At Park Primary School, we believe that regular attendance is essential for children to make the most of their education. Every school day provides valuable opportunities for learning, developing friendships and building confidence.
We work in partnership with parents and carers to promote good attendance and ensure that children are supported to attend school regularly.
Our Attendance Target
We aim for all pupils to achieve an attendance level of at least 96%.
While occasional absence is sometimes unavoidable, regular attendance helps children to maintain continuity in their learning and feel settled and confident at school.
96% attendance = around 8 days of absence across a school year.
Every School Day Counts
Missing school regularly can have an impact on a child’s learning and progress. Even small amounts of absence can add up over time.
We monitor attendance regularly and will contact families where attendance begins to cause concern. Our approach is supportive and aims to identify any barriers to attendance and work with families to address them.
Arriving on Time
Good attendance also means arriving at school on time and being ready to learn.
Arriving late can mean missing important information at the start of the day and can make it harder for children to settle into their learning.
If you have concerns about your child’s attendance or are experiencing difficulties that may be affecting their ability to attend school regularly, please speak to us. We are here to work with families and provide support wherever possible.
