Reporting an Absence
If your child is too unwell to attend school, please contact the school office before 9.30am on the first day of absence and let us know the reason.
If your child remains absent, please keep the school updated.
When Should My Child Stay at Home?
It can sometimes be difficult to know whether your child is too unwell to attend school.
The NHS and Healthier Together provide useful advice about common childhood illnesses, including when children should stay at home and when they can return to school.
Leave of Absence
If you wish to request leave for your child during term time, you must complete a Leave of Absence Request Form and submit it to the school office.
Leave of absence will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
Taking a holiday during term time is not normally considered an exceptional circumstance. Parents and carers should be aware that unauthorised absence may result in a penalty notice being issued or other legal action being taken.
